  • Transmission / Overdrive: transmission identification

I have collected over the years three transmissions that now I need to identify. The numbers I have found are: (#1)T85C 1A also R11-1G WG Div N-1
    (#2)5C-1, WG Div N20, 1129 -1, (The 11 could be an H)
    (#3) 5C-1, WG Div N2, L30%2
I believe one came out of a 63 wagonaire V8, One out of a 59 Lark, and one out of a 63 Champ pickup but it might not have been original. Any help you can give would be appreciated.

#1 is easy, it's a H.D. 3 Speed Overdrive the T-89's from Trucks with Lower 1st. & 2nd. Gears have T-85 Cases. The R-11 is the H.D. Overdrive behind it.

#1 & 2 you did not get the raised Letters/Numbers from the right side of the Main Case, those look like date codes, Div. Codes, Shift Codes, etc. NOT Borg Warner Model Numbers.

The T-86 & T90 are easy to I.D. they have a 6 Bolt Top Cover, T-96 for 6 Cly. Cars has only 4.

    A Wagonaire & '59 Lark, with a 6 or an 8? Big difference!
