Check out Fleet Filters. Filters are sold by the case of 12. Good discounts for volume purchases.

That's a shame. Some of those "Brand" names, once carried very reputable credibility. Do you think another manufacturer will pick them up? For a manufacturer with good quality, some of those brands, could be profitable, if the "rights" can be acquired at a bargain.

It is 'only' a chapter 11, so those filters will still be manufactured....
But, it does point out that many American manufacturing concerns are struggling.
Most of the large filter companies have been up for sale, or have been sold in the last few years.
The most recent sale was WIX, who was just purchased by Mann & Hummel, a large German filtration company.

In the 70's i worked for an independent parts house that was the smallest stocking warehouse for Champion Labs the manufacturer of Champion oil and air filters. they would make filters with any body's brand or name on them. restocking day would have a semi pull up and empty out its contents and a saturday spent refilling the shelves. they were sold as singles or cases and i got my Stude partial flo filters free as advertising gimmick." The Old Man" ,Jim Henderson ran a route through the Ozarks north and south of a tiny town called St Joe. he hit all the small garages/gas stations, and one horse town convenience stores supplying oil,oil filters, and air filters along with anything automotive they needed. Names like 56 and,Morning Star still give me a laugh. In one such wide spot in the road(crooked and steep) a "shop" owner never picked up his tools, they were pressed into the oil soaked dirt floor. He was also the Preacher and JP for the tiny Berg. All have long since passed into history much like Studebaker, and Champion filters. AAAhhh Memories. Doofus
