  • Speedo / Tach / Gauges: Silly question about mounting a clock in a '61 Lark

Howdy, I just had my the Borg clock a kind Stude owner sold me for my '61 wagon rebuilt and I'd like to install it this weekend. I'm wanting to know the order of operations - I've got the trim ring with the tabs, and the mounting ring that goes behind the dash that has the two ears that match up to the mounting ears on the clock unit. In looking at it, would it be easiest to mount the trim ring, then from the backside of the dash install the mounting ring, and bend the tabs to hold it in place, then mount the clock with I'm assuming two machine screws? (I've yet to purchase these) Or is it easier to mount the clock to the ring first? Either way seems like it's going to be a fiddly job working somewhat blind, so I'm just trying to see if anyone has any tips or tricks for making it a bit easier.
