Years ago I bought the V8/auto drivetrain out of a 66 Stude. Now I am converting my 62 hardtop to V8 w/auto drivetrain.
I figured on using the automatic since it is a borg warner unit with a later shift pattern and I know that I will have to attach the cable kickdown to the carb but what I am wondering is can I use the torque converter out of the 66 and bolt it to a 62 V8? I have not seen the converter in years am I right to figure that it is minus the ring gear??
Since I have had the transmission and torque converter in storage for over a decade what should I do to the transmission before I install it in a car.
