  • Electrical: Radimeter

What's the secret to removing the temp gauge/radimeter from a 49 2r5 type A instrument panel? Tried to get at it from the rear and it seemed the meter face was larger than the exit hole.

      1. Remove 2 screws holding gauge in place.
      2. Move circuit breaker out of the way, if present.
      3. Draw the gauge slowly outwards until the faceplate lightly contacts the housing.
      4. Slide the radimeter gauge toward the oil gauge as far as it will go.
      5. Gently tilt the radimeter until the outside edge of the gauge face (the one opposite the oil pressure gauge) is clear of the housing.
      6. Remove gauge with sigh of relief.
