  • Gas tank interchange

Anyone know if the gas tanks for a 50 and 51 are the same? All my books are at the shop and I'm not.
    Thanks,

George, I'll TRY to remember to check out the one in the '52 HT tomorrow... I'll shoot you an email when I do.

50 & 51-52 use the same exact tank, George.

Thanks guys, the car I'm dealing with (50) currently has a Toyota tank rigged on it..complete with PVC plumbing to get the outlet in position. I have a 52 and 51 in the yard but both are missing tanks.

I think I have a good 50 tank here, George.

I just found that the '50,'51,'52 all models, Champion & Commander get the same 525610 tank. As Biggs did.

            I also found that the '47-'48 get a 519098 17 gal., and the '49 gets a 525356 18 gal.

The trick is, you never know what the changes were: large (not interchangeable) or small. This might be one of the few cases where the Hollander Interchange Book I bought from JDP might help! If only I could find it! Never used it.

Oh well, this should be enough to answer StudebakerGeorge's question anyway, but for the curious, this info plus the Hollander would do it!
