  • Transmission / Overdrive: Clutch repair

I have pulled my engine out of my 1928 FAE presidential eight' I live in Cincinnati OH and need names for some one to re-surface my fly wheel, rebuild the pressure plate and clutch plate. Figure I should service this since I am down this far into it. I also want to have the head welded it has a crack and leaks some water. It was welded before a long time ago. Is there any recommendation on who could evaluate the engine and service it why it's is out. I don't want to just take it to anyone.

    Thanks Chuck

Welcome to the SDC and to the SDC Forum, Chuck.

A Machine Shop should be able to surface the Flywheel and a Brake and Clutch Relining Shop could rebuild the Clutch.

The Engine is another thing entirely, that would require a serious Old time Engine specialist, familiar with pre-war cars.

You'll find help here once the right people see your message. You may want to change your thread title to include the 1928 reference. There are some "really old" Studebaker folks here but they don't usually even look at threads that aren't about "really old" cars.
Have you joined the Antique Studebaker Club and/or the Studebaker Drivers Club?
