  • Engine: R-1 and R2 Cams

    Is there a different part # for an R1 or R2 cam for automatic or standard shift, or what i'm really asking is the grind different.

      No. R1 and R2 are the same. the only difference between an R1 and R2 is the Heads (combustion chamber size) ports are the same. The transfer slots in the intake at the base of the carb mounting. The vacuum advance, and the mechanical advance rate on the distributor. And of course the addition of the supercharger on the R2

        I didn't mean between R1 and R2, I meant between automatic and standard shift.

            Hmmm, must be a Chevy Guy, didn't they have a different Cam for 1 passenger vs 3 passengers?

              Yeah I'm a Chevy guy,Buick, also the rest of the GM cars, Crosley, Henry J, Mopars, Toyota's, and all Orphans. Actually I like all cars no matter what make. Hey i even like Studebakers (8 of them). Probably owned more different cars than 90% of anyone. Some times i even like Ford products.
