It is under the drive's side floor board. Remove the inspection plate for filling the fluid. But it is accessed from below. I just bought a 1962 GT Hawk and the best thing I did was to buy a full set of shop manuals.

Congratulations on finding a car. A GT Hawk is a great car to drive and is popular with everyone who sees it.

There are body parts and chassis parts manuals also. They have wonderful, professional line drawings of all the parts, and how all the parts interconnect in any given system.

In addition to showing any part you need, you will also get the part numbers and the major Studebaker parts vendors still use these numbers.

It makes communication clear and concise, and can save much time and dollars by eliminating mistakes, misconceptions, and miscommunication.

Great stuff, and not expensive either.

Eric, in addition too mounting up the new master cylinder. I would check/inspect the brake lines, replace as needed due too rust etc.if the lines look/are good,at least make sure no foreign matter got into the exposed lines, crap dis-lodging off the floor boards.

My front lines were chafed and the rear looked "ok" Replaced the front lines and then when bleading the system I had zero pressure at the rear blead screws. The rear hose had colapsed internallly but still looked ok.

            Replace all three flex hosed

If your car has power brake booster change those lines too, again they can look OK but be collapsed internally.

                When looking for manuals.
The original books have crisp, clear images. The backgrounds can be seen clearly.
The reproduction books images are muddied, the backgrounds not clearly visible.
It can make a great difference understanding what you are looking for or at.
I don't know if the manuals on CD are from original or reproduction books.

Yeah. . . all I have is the CD, and the images are NOT real clear. I tore apart way more of my left front window mechanism than I needed to, because I couldn't see clearly where one of the screws was.

Fortunately, the parts manuals have line drawings, rather than photographs. The line drawings reproduce much better than photographs.
