  • Frame question 63 lark sedan

I was under the car today and noticed something weird with the frame in front of the drivers wheel. In the area under the rear bumper bracket there are two large slots. the metal that is supposed to be between the holes is torn out, almost looks ripped out. When I bought the car, the grille panel was pushed back and the bumper was very bent and the hood would not close.
The drivers side wheel is leaning in at the top. All the bushings are solid. I repacked the bearings today and they are fine..but the top really leans in. The engine is out of the car.

sounds like someone tied the car down by the bottom plate of the frame and ripped it for you, it happens. Don't worry about the camber until you get the engine back in, odd camber with the suspension unloaded is perfectly normal.

Toe out too! If you look at a Stude with the engine out it will have around 1"-2" toe out.
