What is the socket size for the pitman arm nut on a '64 Avanti?

    thanks,

Well this may sound like a dumb A$$ answer, but it's what I do; grab the Largest Socket that fits it without spinning!

      1-1/4" is the size.

Kinda odd since virtually every Pitman arm nut on an American car or light truck out there from way back when is 1 5/16"

"Odd" or not, that's what came on my '63 and what has been on it ever since--still is (I measured it just before posting above). My car came with and still has the optional "Quick Steering" box (really just the power-steering box without the power-steering).
