  • Engine: Engine ID

I have read the chart posted here on engine ID numbers, so I am just confirming I read it right. I have an engine with the stamped ID of V7877I so that's a 1951 232 cid right? What does the "I" represent? Thanks for the help!! Art

Believe I represents the number one. Same used as used for vin. tag.Read it somewhere!in Stude. facts.

That's correct, Studebaker used "I" instead of "1."
