  • Transmission / Overdrive: Hurst shifter

I just finished the install of a Hurst Shifter in my 63 Hawk, in a word awesome. I am glad I took the advice of people on the forum. the cost is a little pricey but well worth it. thank you all.

Once in a while, even a blind pig finds an acorn.

Yes, I use Hurst shifters in all my Studes for the past fifty years or so.

Previous comments suggest it's a build your own mounting bracket program with Hurst shfiters. Any suggestions on the bracket for a T-86.

Here's a sketch I did for someone here a while ago. This is how I mounted a 3 speed floor shifter to my T86.

Sorry for the sideways image.... too lazy to fix it first.

Yes. Pull the tranny, give it a good cleaning and do the fabrication and adjustments on the bench. Back in the day, not knowing any better, I installed them from underneath. You'll be able to do a better bracket in half the time when you can see WIGO.
