Ok being stupid but should I be adding a lead substitute to the fuel on this or just run 87 or 91 unleaded?

Go ahead and run unleded regular (87) if it pings then go up in rating. The valve seals on Studes will go out and start sucking oil down the guides before the seats go. When you change the seals, kiss the valves.
