  • Engine: Studebaker Oiling

Just wondering. Is there any tech data, maybe from one of Stude's engineering papers for SAE in the early 50's, detailing the flow/pressure rates of the Stude V8 oiling system? How much flow was bled off by the bypass etc? One would think they would have had to be designing to a spec and not just throwing stuff together and saying it looks about right.

Jim, you might try getting that from Jim Pepper. He has a lot of info about the design and figures involved with the Stude v8. He is worth a try at least, Bill Van Alstyne

I seem to remember a discussion 20 years ago regarding the oiling of the stude timing gears. Is there any modification to the oiling of them that is recommended?
