  • Body / Glass: Convertible 1947 Dome light

Just a quick question. I am restoring a 47 Champion with a lot of work to be done. Top frame is there, but no fabric is left. I see it has the swithes at the door jambs, for interior lighting. Where does the interior light go with no top as the 48 4dr of my youth had?

Don't know about the 47, but my 50 has it in the upper dashboard by the radio.

The factory calls it a map light. In 1947-48-49 models it's on the bottom of the instrument cluster over the ignition switch. The override switch is a toggle below the speedometer.
So.....if I'm 'pre-approved' why do you want me to fill out an application?

Thanks very much folks. I guess the map light is all there is in the convertible. The 48 of my youth had that too which came on with the little switch. The dome light in the roof was activated by the doors though.
