New front springs for 1957 President with air.

    Dunno if it makes any difference, but wasn’t ’57 the 1st year for what Studebaker called “Variable-Rate Front Springs”? These springs had the coils closer together on the bottom than the top. I’m wondering if the replacement springs would be the same? Or if it even matters?

    Kinda funny, the brochure for the sedan mentions the new-fangled springs but the station wagon brochure states “…first spring and suspension system designed especially for station wagons…” and shows a picture of what appears to be a standard evenly-spaced front coil and the 2-stage rear leaf spring.

    Leave it to Studebaker….

      The Moog CC655 springs are variable rate springs.
