  • Transmission / Overdrive: Overdrive Testing

I have two overdive solenoids that I have no need of. I want to test them before I list them on Ebay. Does anyone know how to test them to see if they work. They have three connectors marked 4, 6 & 8. One has the number 1119985 stamped on the end

    Thanks

That's a late fifties 12-volt. If it's good, it should bring more than $50.

I have simply connected two from a battery to 2 of the screws (2 of the 3 will work) and the tang will pop out rather strongly..

Could you explain what "2 from a battery means? Do I connect something to two of the three terminals? Does it matter which of the three terminals?

Put a negative test wire clip from a battery on the 4 post and tap the 8 post with the positive clip.
