  • Is there a plate behind the torque converter

I was looking at a 322 buick motor today and saw a triangle plate that was bolted to the crank, does a studebaker 289 have a plate that the converter bolts to?

Yes, there is a circular metal flex plate bolted to the crankshaft. In turn, the torque converter is bolted to it.
