  • MOULDING CLIPS

Need a source for the moulding clips that screw on with a #6 or # 8 screw to retain the window mouldinng (above, below, and around) on the '55 President 4-door sedan. These have a hole for the set screw and screw from the inside out and then they have the little wire spring to help keep them in place. Have googled and checked all the known to me suppliers such as Restoration Specialties, Florida Fasteners, etc. and all those have the center screw with nut and thos will not conventiently work in some of the tighter places.

These are TOUGH to find! Peculiar to 55 Studebakers ONLY so far as I know.[V]

I'll post the part number tomorrow night when I can get to my chassid parts manual. I believe the unique to '55 Studebaker alright; never seen any like that in any catalog or swapmeeet. As with the unavailable rear vent window molding, it will be necessary to get innovative.

I remember making clips for mine a few years ago, only to find out Stephen Allen had them all. I'll bet he still has some.

I'll try Stephen Allen. Have acquired a number of items from him before. Thanks.

N8, I did get them from SI, they stock them, $1.50 each. I thought they were rare and didn't look until you mentioned it

The SA website has a listing for the '55 front fender moulding clip, 307213. They're $20.50 each (12 are required per car). Now that's a pricy clip.

$20.50. Ouch! Maybe a typo? I'm getting twelve for just over that. I got the fender spear clips from Stephen Allen for $2.50 each. They had just 8 of the door/window molding types, so I'll have to be creative for the others I need.
