Steer & Gear of Columbus, Ohio, rebuilt the Saginaw power steering unit on my 1956 President Classic. I had tried rebuilding it myself and had trouble getting the various adjustments to spec; I finally surrendered and took a chance with this outfit I discovered on the web. Now the unit is reinstalled, and I have driven the car perhaps 75 miles. What a pleasure! The steering is firm and feels just right. And this is with 14-year-old Universal bias-ply tires. Steer & Gear
charged me about $400 to rebuild the unit, and that included shipping it back to me (although I supplied some of the seals). This amount is $250 less than what Lares Manufacturing quoted me. And it has a one-year warranty.
