  • CI-4 Oil

I just wanted to let everyone know that Pep Boys sells Castrol GTX Diesel oil that's 15W-40 and rated CI-4 for our flat tappet engines.
I bought a bunch of the stuff for future use. They had it in gallon jugs and 1 quart bottles.
The Rotella T that they stocked was CJ-4. Didn't have any of the CI-4 in stock.

Swepco 15W40 may solve all of the oil worries, with regard to the reduction in ZDDP.

Yeah, did you see the price? $142.80 for 24, thats $71.40 for 12 quarts or $5.95 a quart! [xx(]

Man at that price you sure can't afford to drive an oil burner!

I'll admit that its pricey, but I'll sleep better at night, knowing that the cam isn't grinding to a halt ...

I just picked up 3 gal of Delo (Chevron) CI-4 rated oil at Pep Boys so there is still plenty out there.

It's nice to know that Castroll is thinking of vintage car owners.
I've been a Castroll customer for years and I'm pleased that they have come out with a formulation for Classic Cars.
I guess that SOMEONE is listening.
