Body / Glass: 55 Champion

I am new to Studebakers and the Forum. I recently bought a 1955 Champion that has the butter knife trim on the sides like a President. I seems to be completely stock as well as the paint and upholstery. What model do I have, Deluxe, Regal, Custom? The ID numbers are 16G6 K5 and the VIN is G935423. What can you tell me about this car? Thanks.

K5 Regal Hardtop; makes sense. Top of the line trim on the Champion.

16G6 K5 Tells us that it's a 1955 (16) Champion (G) six cylinder (6) hardtop (K) and (probably ) Regal (6)

The serial no. tells us again Champion (G) and the 6 letters are in sequence, tell us that it was Assembled in Los Angeles, (beginning with 932,501.)

I had to look up the beginning number, Rockne beat me.

I see a dent in the right front fender, sun damage, clear plastic covers over original seats and no rust.
It does the heart good to know some folks are still that lucky.
