  • The supercharger that got away.....

I was thinking about installing a supercharger on my Avanti (thanks a
lot Karl) and remembered something that happened years ago. Back in
the 90s we had quite a lot of Studebaker parts at the time my Dad sold
the house in California. I have mentioned that before, most of those
parts went to the scrap yard because we couldnt get anyone to come get
then during escrow. One of those items was a COMPLETE A/C unit from a
'64 Lark Daytona Wagonaire. What does that have to do with a losing a
supercharger you say? Well, about a year before, there was a person
in the Turning Wheels that wanted to trade a complete supercharger for
an A/C setup. My dad didnt want to lose the A/C setup and so I had to
pass on the deal. If memory serves that A/C unit went to scrap, but it
might have gone to Charles Schintledge (sp) in Canoga Park. Hopefully.

One thing that I have always been baffled over, is my R1 Avanti has a
dual belt pulley on the crank and water pump. I think I asked this in
the past, but its obvious the car never had A/C, why go the expense of
putting extra pulleys on each engine?? Its not like you can just drop
      a supercharger on a high compression R1???[:0]

Cast iron mount? Jezzzz - like the front end isnt heavy enough![]
