  • Chrome or paint????? 56 wagon

Gathering up all my chrome to take to the platers. Looking at my vent window frames????? Are they suppose to be chrome or black? Mine look Black. The parts books shows both but I am having a hard time deciding which one is for my 56 two dr. wagon. Thanks

It depends on the trim level on most models, black on the low end, chrome on the high.

Yep, you have to get something for your extra money. It's alway amazing me how far Studebaker went to shave a penny off the low end models. Sometimes I think they spent more on stocking two or three part numbers then they saved.

That was my thought. Custom, Regal, State...It's going to depend on the tag on your firewall.

The car is all a part and in bags. Could take days to locate body tag. The build sheet says 56G D4. It is a wagon with alot of options. Back-up,luggage,auto,tint,dual heaters etc.

Just looked at my 57 Provincial; the actual frame that hold the vent glass is black; the bar that divides it and the side window is chrome.
