  • WCFB for 62 Hawk

I am one of the unfortunates who was not able to go to South Bend. I do, however, need a WCFB from a 289 Hawk for parts. The air cleaner stud has stripped out the body of the carb. I tried to helicoil it, but to no avail. The helicoil does not go in deep enough. Anyone got one with a good carb, or some other idea on how to fix this thing?[^]

I'd have to look at mine to see for sure, but is there enough metal to tap the hole the next size up, bore the hole in the air cleaner cover bigger and use a little threaded rod in place of the stud?
