  • Fuel System: demensions of 54 champion gas tank,

I'm working on a 1954 champion for a friend and the old tank was rotted and rusted. Is there anybody that can tell me where to go to find a new replacement or the demensions so I can have one made. thank you

Might try Studebaker International (SI). I've heard they have a few Lark gas tanks left. You would probably have to move the filler inlet, but the tank would most likely fit. If you need to have one made, take the dimensions from your rusted out old one. Welcome to the forum. You would do well to join the SDC, you can do it on the home page of this site. Most of the parts you will need are available from our vendors. You can get the manuals from our vendors in either CD or printed form, they will answer most of your questions also.

Someone here will have a good used one for you. Your tank is different than a Lark, you have the early narrow tank for cars with spare tire well.

That would be IF this '54 Champion is a Sedan. The Coupes, Hardtops, and Wagons differ.

Thanks everyone. the car is a 54 coupe and the tank was beyond measurements. Worst case is i will do the engineering for volume and have one made. I believe it was a 17 gallon tank.

Your tank would be the same as all C-K models through 64 so someone should have a useble one. I assumed mistakenly you had a sedan,my bad! Yours would be an 18 gallon tank.

Where are you located? I'm in Southern California and I have a good used tank from a '53 Commander "C" coupe.

                  Shriver:
I don't know how much for shipping (you'll have to arrange that) but you can have the tank for $65.
