Final Chapter, A Happy Ending..............
Well the car is back together, new ring gear, new t/o bearing, new starter motor and new oil:-)
I expected the worst as far as labor charge was concerned...........I happen to have not only a Studebaker Labor guide, but a Chilton Labor Guide from 1965.......and checked to see what I should expect......ball park about 11 hours labor.
Well I was charged only six hours labor.........and I could not be happier........the only additional money was for the new T/0 bearing, and starter motor.
I walked out with 765.00 in labor plus the gear bearing and starter.........which added 250.00.
So in my mind I expected 500 additional............and now I am a happy camper.
Trouble is when you are used to driving a 2009 Nissan with stick you get spoiled as to noise and smoothness...........getting back in a 1963 car with T-10 4 speed and loud exhaust............well it seems like I am riding a hopped up box cart:-)Tags: None
