  • Dual Master Cylinder for K body?

    Do you have experience with this change? I have looked at Turner Brakes web site but it doesn't have enough info for someone of my knowledge level. If I understand, he sells a bracket to adapt a split MC but no info there about which one to use and how complex the job is. I would appreciate hearing from someone who has done this.

    I have bought one from Turner for my 52 Commander, but I haven't installed it. There were several threads where people said that it was an easy installation.

    Mine requires a 67-76 Corvette master cylinder which I have bought.

      I have two Turner kits, one on a 55 President sedan and one on a 64 GT Hawk. On both, I used the recommended Master and ran into issues with the cap either hitting the floor or the end of the MC hitting the front brace or crossmember. On the 55, I modified the cap to fit under the floor. I, also,had to cut a hole in the front brace to make it work.

      The Hawk is still in "intensive care", but I've since changed the MC to a 95 Eclipse master, which has a remote filler and doesn't hit the cross member. The only downside to this MC is you have to get metric to SAE adapters to get the pipes to mate( not difficult). If you use a remote fill reservoir, you don't need the residual valves, either. There's also a MC from 95-96 Mercury villager, which is similar (remote fill). I don't know about the metric issue on this one, but it's probably similar.
