    In regards to the same question. Why is the Champ front axle narrower then the rear axle, in my case by 4"?

    You didn't specify which model Champ. In any case, in my truck spec books, that specific number depends on the tire size. The two universal numbers that are listed there are:

    Width over tires (outside of tire to outside of tire: model 5/7: 69 5/8"; model 10/12: 70 3/4"
    Width over hubs: model 5/7: 70 7/16"; model 10/12: 71 7/16"

    My '62 1/2 ton with stock wheels is 58 inches.
