  • Lark front fender screws...ARGH!

I brought this car home yesterday
    http://www.tomnoller.com/Daytona.html
and am trying to get the last of the screws out to remove the 'face' and as in my '60 Lark, these are stubborn. The heads are rounded and vice grips won't get 'em. The headlight buckets are out and I can get on the thread side, but even with a dose of kroil and the v-grips, nothing budges. Was going to try my ox/ace torch and a hammer tomorrow. No room for a saw in there. Dynamite? <G>

My problem was that the screws that went into the cowl at the bottom broke off in the cowl.

Tom, if you can get on them with a six-point socket, they should back out, if they are those extra-coarse threads that go into J-nuts. In my experience, they are generally easy to remove, because there is only a tiny area of thread-to-thread engagement.

Nice to see you back here, too, Tom!
