Steering: Sloppy steering on a 64 Hawk with power steering

I have about 4 inches play in the steering wheel. I have power steering and i see most of the play is in the control valve. Is there any tightening to that valve? I know it has to move some to control the flow of fluid but mine seems excessive. Thanks Ya'll Tom

There is more play noticeable in the steering wheel when the engine is off. The pump puts pressure on all the internals and things tighten up once running. If you still have play, start looking at your center pin bearings, and all the tie rod ends, etc. There's also the Ross box adjustments
