  • Brakes: Turner master bracket

Okay I'm in the process of installing the Turner M/C bracket on my 63 Hawk drum/drum brakes. I got the bracket and master installed okay. I'm using the jeep M/C quite a snug fit to say the least.
here are my questions,#1 both resevior chambers are the same size, I'm assuming the port closest to the pushrod is for the front brakes
question #2 since i'm doing this, is there off the self brake hoses that fit. I found a number for the front on Bob J.s site, Wagner F24970, but nothing for the rear, anyone got a number.
#3 the Turner bracket does not allow for the clutch pedal return spring. the only option I see is drillng a 3/8 hole thru the frame outrigger and installing a threaded rod with a backing plate, attaching the spring to the threaded rod with a hole drilled in the rod for the spring hook. the threaded rod could be pulled tight to the right length and tension for the spring

If the Jeep M/C is the same as the AMC replacement for the Studebaker 63 twin circuit which is $$$, then the reservoirs are reversed from Studebaker use. Ie Studebaker used the front where AMC used the rear, and vice versa.

Believe it or not, the GTs seem to have a little more room for the dual MC. That's probably cuz GTs are spaced a little hirher on the frame (thicker rubber pads). Most modern FLAPS have computer support that allows them to look up the correct hoses. If not in stock, they can usually be had in a couple of days. I like the idea you have with the threaded rod for the clutch spring. Sounds a lot easier than what I came up with.

Flashback, what kind of MC is that? Looks like you've got some extra room above it and at the tail end, between the MC and the pillar. I have always used the AMC/Jeep one.

okay I found brake hose part# Raybestos BH 4900 front BH 11146 rear.
Flashback, my bracket does not have that hole where your spring is attached, and you definately have a lot more room or a smaller master

FWIW, Flashback's car is not a Hawk, so PN's and measurements may not be the same for your car.
