Actually she did. She also taught me to try and help people-
and we see how well that worked out...

I guess Dad's explanation was better then mine. No worries- you figured it out.
Get your springs and be happy. Everyone I know who got a set from CSS is!!!

During the Cooperator Seminar at the Springfield Meet last month, Jim Pepper told us that a pair of Moog CC655 coils springs where a perfect replacement for the front springs on a V-8, C-K Studebaker, they are progressively wound which will eliminate body roll. Jim said that they provide a smoother ride than the original coil springs used by Studebaker. The Moog CC655 spring is the rear coil spring used in the 1986 to 1988 Olds 88 and Buick LeSaber. I just purchased a pair of these springs from Rockauto.com for $68.00 plus $11.00 shipping.

Thanks, I will check with auto zone and see if they will rent me a spring compressor. The Coil Spring folks in Kansas say I should go with the coil spring #1561664. I guess that is what I will order. I just hope it is not too stiff.
Make that Advance Auto. I'm always getting them and Autozone confused!

              Progressively wound?

Quote: "progressively wound" is that just a fancy term for the Variable Rate Studebaker style Spring that had coils that were closer together at one end than at the other?

Rich - Yes it means the same thing - The coil wraps are closer at the top than at the bottom. FWIW that's the term that Jim Pepper used, and I had to ask what it meant
