  • Disk Brake Tool

I will be changing the front disks pads soon and the manual says to use a "Piston brake return lever tool". I understand it's use and purpose but is this tool still available and if not what can be used in its place. As always, thanks in advance.

You don't need it. I'd guess It's just a tool to push the pistons it, and a screwdriver works fine.

To build on what JDP says, I have an old screwdriver dipped in Plasti-Kote that I use for this purpose.

I'm not sure how the Studebaker disc brakes are but on my other vehicles I use a large "C" clamp, with the claiper still attatched, to compress the piston. I have found that in using a screwdriver or small pry bar one is taking a chance of chipping the piston or gouging the disc. They still sell a piston compresser

That's way too elegant a solution.
