  • Hill Holder Question

    Hello,

    I am currently swapping the master cylinder on my Conestoga Wagon to a double chamber set-up from Turner. I would like to continue using the hill holder unit, if possible, except, I'm not sure how to plumb the brake lines. Do you isolate the front or rear lines only for the hill holder?

    Has anyone had experience with this?

    I haven't done such a conversion, but I don't see a problem with using the hill holder on either the front or rear brakes. Either should be able to hold the car on an incline. Once you let off the clutch, the brakes are gonna do like they're supposed to if the HH is set up right!

      Scott,
      Just plumb the rear lines through the hill holder. My 63 Avanti has a hill holder, and only the rears are plumbed through it.

        Same with my disk-brake Wagonaire (and it doesn't work as well as the older four-wheel Hill Holder systems).
        Remember that you have to bleed the Hill Holder too (or you will never get the air out of the lines- found out the hard way).
