  • Control Arm Spreader Tool

Is there an alternative way to spread the outer control arm .015, I did not see a torque spec on how tight the bushing should be.

I was thinking of cutting a solid bar .015 longer and forcing it in, or using a 1/2 bolt and a rod coupling nut and spreading it .015 with that, or where can I get a spreader?

I'm using Derlin bushings for the inner from Chuck collins

Here is the tool copied from the Studebakerparts website. https://www.studebakerparts.com/stud...age=tools.html Just scroll down to front end tool.

I used a port-power to spread it to the dimension +15 thousands and set my ID gauge to that dimension as I installed the bushings.

There is no torque spec as the bushings will be stop turning when the bottom on the arm, not the kingpin.
