Look for a 6.40 X 15 Tire height conversion to moderen sizes on Coker Tire Website.

Studerich- Thanks but my plan is wider radials that are the same height as the stock tires. John

That is fine, it is a better choice for a driver. They also give you the cross reference Tires to use, I believe it is a 195X75R15 which you will no longer find at the Common name brand Tire stores, probably only at the Speciality Tire Stores like Lucas and Coker.

Also be aware that if you use wider than 75 Series, MAYBE a 70 Series, the Tires are too wide for the little 5 inch Stock Rims.

Studerich-I have 6" rims. Using the reference material you gave me and carnut.coms common tire size chart, I am looking at 235/65R15 tires for a tire diameter of 26.5". Thanks for all of your help. John

I THINK thats waay too much tire for a 51 to handle. It MAY work on the rear but I dont think it will clear on the front. Steve

Any idea of the max tire size on the front? John

Try a 205-75 on the front. Not too wide, but might hit the frame or fender on sharp turns.

All of this info would of course depend on the OFFSET of those 6 in. wheels.

Are they aftermarket, Ford or Mopar?

                      3/8" positve offset. 3 3/4" backspace. Aftermarket.
