  • Edelbrock conversion

    Hi
Am putting a 1403 edelbrock on my 62 289.. Need to know which side to put the dist. vacuum line on.. I should have checked whether i have full vac at idle or at timed vacuum advance..Also any suggestions for a good spot for the choke wire hookup...
    Thanks Dick

Pass side port for the advance, full 12 volts when the ignition is on, stay away from the distributor or coil as a source.

Dick, the later Hawks have a Overdrive unused wire with terminal in the harness if the car is not equipped with overdrive, it works great. I don't have '57 Hawk to check to see if the older ones have it, but it would be hanging on the firewall behind the Left Cyl. head. If it has overdrive you could splice into the on-with ign. hot wire to the kickdown switch.
