Should my 38 Studebaker President have a 2 part air cleaner assembly? All I currently have is a round air cleaner canister mounted directly on top of the carburetor. I have seen some 1938 models, possibly a Commander, where the assembly included a long piece that goes between the carburetor and the air filter canister. I am wondering if I am missing something or is mine complete.

In the parts manual it appears that the remote filter with a tube to the carburetor is an oil bath filter. The smaller round filter attached directly to the carb. should have a replaceable element in it?

Thanks for your responses,
The air filter I have has a brass element around the top that can be easily removed and cleaned. It is defiantly not the oil bath system because there is no reservoir to put oil in.
It appears I do have the correct air filter.
Thanks again for the clarification
Jim
