My 42 M-16 grain truck has a Timken mechanical shift 2 speed rear that locked up at about 45 MPH. It looks like the only salvagable part is the outer carrier. Does anyone know where I can find parts to fix this one or another center section?

You should contact Studebaker International in Greenfield, IN (317) 462 3124 to see if their South Bend Warehouse may have saved one or two of the MANY heavy truck complete rear axles that were in the SASCO warehouse.
They most likely would be single speed, but would be better than a 6. something & 7. something ratio 2 speed axle, and you could add an Overdrive Auxiliary Transmission (Brownie) to drive over 45 MPH.StudeRich
