Look inside of the decklid, it should have studs on the Emblem retainer with speednuts to remove it separately from the lock Cylinder. The latch should be a separate unit also.Leave a comment:

Trunk Lid Emblem Retainer
I want to replace the trunk crest emblem on my '56 Power Hawk. Do I have to remove the lock to take the emblem retainer off? The manual just talks about the lock removal. I just got the trunk lined up to lock as it should and I would like not to have to mess with the lock.
