I was just at the Stewart Warner web site. They seem to have a line of new-ish electronic gas tank senders for the 240-33 ohm gauges, as used by Studebaker. They have senders for a variety of tank depths. Has anyone tried one of these to replace an old Studebaker sender? Since the old cork-float ones die in alcohol-laced modern gas, these might be the solution. They also have some with float arms that could be adjusted to replace the old ones.

By the way, I got a tip at Reedsville this past weekend on using old NOS gas tank senders: dip the cork in some new-style gas tank sealer, like POR brand, so that the old shellac isn't dissolved by the new gas. That might even work on some ancient senders with cork floats.
