  • 1953 232 engine and trans colors

i know the engine and trans are green but what else goes green?? also what all should go black and is it gloss or flat??
trying to stay as close to original as possible without breaking the bank.

i did get the motor and trans apart but had to go ahead and pull the trans out with it then separate them. i am going to go ahead and put in a new rear main and probably a new clutch disc but not 100% on the clutch!! it still looks pretty good. anything else i should do while i have the engine out??

Yes, always install NEW Brass (freeze), core plugs and clean water jackets.

The only Black was the Air Cleaner, Valve Covers, Oil Cap and Electrical components, all else is Olive Green, no Kelly Green.
Most were very soon heat cooked to semi-gloss Black, but were gloss.
