  • 232 engine removal

    ok so i am pulling my 232 out of my 53 commander and everything is disconnected but i cant get the bell housing to seperate from the engine. it is a 3 speed so no flex plate bolts!!! what am i forgetting????

    It may be hanging up on the dowel pins...if you can knock them out

    or pull the tranny with the engine....I did this recently with my 53 but with an automatic

      It would be easier if you pulled the engine with the bell housing and separated them out of the car. Even then the bell may need some rapping with a mallet to start it separating from the engine.
