looking for opinions as to acceptable lubes for ross steering boxes, specifically avanti. as the industry has moved toward synthetics, logic would point to them for our older cars also; then there could very well be the leakage problem. as usual, thanks for any and all input.

I've been using Shell Alvania 00 extreme pressure grease in my steering boxes. It is a semi fluid grease that is used in gear cases of farm equipment. I'm sure that other lubricant suppliers market a 00 grease too. Bud

I buy it from the local Shell lubricant supplier. I buy it in pails,but they may have it in tubes or smaller containers. I'm sure that anyone that sells tractor and farm supplies will have it in stock in smaller quantities and I'll bet that larger parts suppliers such as NAPA can get it. I don't believe that Victorias Secret carrys industrial lubes, but I guess you can ask. Bud
