  • Info tag on fire wall, what does it mean?

    Hi Guys,

You've seen this question before but what does the tag on the fire wall/cowl describe? Mine says 4H-C5 on the top line and 4155 on the second line. Thanks for your help.

    Regards,

Your car is a 1953 Commander (4H) Coupe, (C) (Not Hardtop, hardtops are K) Regal trim line (5), the 4155th body that was welded up.

Mine is 4H-C5, 1013, built March 5, 1953, the 1013th body welded. This is only an approximate sequence of assembly due to transportation from the weld shop to the assembly building. The Serial No. on the drivers A pillar is the build sequence, but I'm not sure it intermingles different body styles or not.

It means you are the proud owner of a 1953 Commander Starlight Regal Coupe with top of the line trim. Yours is the 4,155th Starlight body assembled. That tag tells more than the Serial Number, unless you use the Serial number to order a production order from the SNM.
My 4H-C5 is the 4,286th. Final assembly 4/30/53.
