  • Lark Front Seat

Has anyone found a modern replacement for the front seat of a 1963 Lark Wagonaire? My seat frame is rusty and the upholstery is pretty much shot. I want to stay with a bench seat, or the 60/40 type split bench.

Tried a search but did not come up with anything.

    Thanks, John

Dodge Dart, Diplomat, Plymouth Valiant,Grand Fury(1980s era), basically any M series mopar fits nicely some have to be raised an inch or two to clear the Studebaker hump

I'm replacing my 1963 Lark Bench with buckets. Red with White inserts near perfect. Where do you live?

I'm in Grapeview, Washington - about 80 miles south and west of Seattle.

            Allen,

I'm interested in your front bench seat. Drop me an email: dpson1954@comcast.net

Any chance you or someone you know is going to Reedsville?

A group of Hamilton Chapter guys will be going down to Reedsville but I will not be ready to get rid of it next week. I most likely I will be ready for York I still have to drive it over to my shop to start to dismantle the car. Can you wait for York or South Bend Swap?

                Allen,

No problem with waiting for York. I'm not sure if I'm going to So. Bend this year, it's a long drive, but perhaps if there was a good reason to go......like picking up a seat, well maybe.

Any chance you could send or post a picture and let know (by email) what you want for it.

                Thanks,

I just assumed that with you being on the West Coast shipping would be a deal breaker. I know it would be for me. You might want to try posting on the Studebaker Swap Page to find someone on the West coast. http://www.studebakerswap.com/swap/swap.php

                      Good Luck

                        John,

I also want to say that I wasn't trying to be a deal breaker here. Certainly if you want to have it shipped to the west coast you have first dibs.

                          John,

I have about 6 original Lark front seats, 60/40 and buckets with console and console floor mount.
They may need upolstry but not rusty, etc.
$60 for the Lark bucket seats with console.
$35 for other Lark split benches
I'm just off I-5 in Bellingham, WA.

Studebaker-R2-4-me and dpson : It was a poor attempt at humor. No way would I want to ship a front seat across the country. I am glad you guys were able to help each other out.

I promise to be more serious in future posts.

Bellingham Studenut : Thanks for the info. I will give it some serious thought.

                            John (seriously)

Just for future reference if someone is searching for seat swap info the front bench from a GM W-Body FWD like a Lumina, Regal, Grand Prix or Cutlass are the exact same width as the Stude seats. You would have to do some mount fabrication but they're comfortable seats. I'm dragging home a '62 Lark soon and it will be the recipient of the 60/40 6 way power bench out my old '90 Regal Limited. It was just too comfy and too clean to send to the shredder when the torque converter died.
