  • Interior Code help; T 5775A GOV 25

got my production order today for my '57 Golden Hawk. Was relieved to see the engine, body and ID numbers all match the Order! After searching the archives, and the Feb'91 Turning Wheels article on the Golden Hawk, I think I have all of it figured out except the interior code.
    It is T 5775A GOV 25
I know "T" is trim, the "57" is the year, and I think the "75A GOV" is Gold Vinyl, but what is the "25"?

Secondly, the "Internal Control antenna" is listed as XAC2688; doesn't it seem odd that the antenna wouldn't have been factory-installed? I can't find a control for it inside the car, would it be right above the ventilator control, I assume? Maybe the dealer never bothered installing it, and just put in an easier 'external control' antenna :-)

    thanks!

Not sure about the 25, Barry, but radio antennas were commonly installed by the dealer during those years. The control was on the left kick panel; a big knob that you normally turned with your left hand. BP

thanks Bob, one more item to add to my "search" list I guess. :-) All I have on the car is a broken-off stub on the fender, and nothing inside the car.

I don't think all had an internal roll up antenna.

no, but that is what is on my production order.... Since it was an "X" accessory, doesn't mean that is what the dealer actually INSTALLED though I suppose :-)

That is correct. An "X" item was simply wrapped in the trunk and shipped with the car. You don't know if the dealer installed that unit, a different unit, or none at all.
