It's a pin that you should be able to drive out with a small punch. A little penetrating oil might help. It's the same design as 60s Studebakers.

There is a 3/32" diameter x 1/2" long roll (spring) pin that holds the handle on. If you don't have a pin punch of that diameter, flattening the point of an appropriately sized nail often works. Applying a few drops of a good penetrating oil some hours before removal often helps. have an assistant support the handle while you punch out the pin. Replacement roll pins are available at a good hardware store.

Can somebody tell me how to remove the driver's side window vent handle on a 1974 Avanti ? I see a small hole with a rusty appearance inside, but cannot determine what it is. it is in the closed position and the button is depressed. Pin ? Set screw ? Thank You.
